Gordon Edes of Yahoo! Sports believes the Dodgers would have interest in LHP Pedro Feliciano if the Mets become sellers at the July 31 Trade Deadline.
…this jives with what i said yesterday, in that, feliciano is the only veteran player worth anything on the roster, who is healthy and able to be traded, and who will [...]

Stat: Feliciano, You’re In

Pedro Feliciano has appeared in 39 of the Mets’ 66 games so far this season.
He is on pace to make 96 relief appearances, ten more than his career high which he set in 2008.
Feliciano has pitched without rest seventeen times, on one day’s rest eleven times, and on two day’s rest seven times.
For a humorous [...]

Quote: Schneider wanted Feliciano’s Slider

Left-handed batters entered last night’s game hitting .125 against Pedro Feliciano, who had allowed just one run in his last 21 appearances.
Last night, however, in a tie game, during the seventh inning, Feliciano gave up a single to the left-handed hitting Nick Markakis and a two-run home run to the left-handed hitting Aubrey Huff, which were the [...]

News: Matt Diaz rarely hits Right-Handed Pitching

Last night, Jerry Manuel pulled Johan Santana, who had thrown 108 pitches through one out in the seventh inning, with a runner standing on first, one out and the game tied at one.
Bobby Parnell relieved Santana to get one out, allowing the runner from first to advance to second.
…i probably would have left santana in, [...]

Note: Perez and others will Return from WBC

On Sunday, David Wright was kneed in the head while sliding into second base during the World Baseball Classic.
Wright remained in the game, but told reporters later he felt dizzy while insisting he was fine.
Meanwhile, Team USA will play Puerto Rico in an elimination game today, meaning either Wright and J. J. Putz or Carlos Beltran, Carlos Delgado, [...]

According to a report on MLB.com, the Mets have signed John Maine to a one-year, $2.6 million contract, avoiding arbitration.
Pedro Feliciano is the lone remaining Met facing arbitration.

Relief Pitcher: The Left-Handed Specialist

Friday night, the Mets traded Scott Schoeneweis to the D’Backs for RHP Conor Robertson.
This means, Pedro Feliciano is the only left-handed relief pitcher on the team’s 40–man roster.
LHP Joe Beimel is reportedly seeking a two– or three-year deal, worth roughly $4 million per season, and, from what I can gather, the Mets are not interested [...]

Relief Pitcher: Mets offered Heilman for Street

On Nov. 18, I wrote, “From what I can gather, the Mets are likely to make a trade for a relief pitcher, who has experience as a closer,” in addition to signing either Francisco Rodriguez, Brian Fuentes or Kerry Wood.”
In the post, I later suggested the Mets could be working to acquire Huston Street, in [...]

Davidoff adds the A’s, [...]

According to Rotoworld.com, Church, Pagan and Maine are under contract through 2011, while Heilamn, Sanchez and Feliciano are under contract through 2010.

Quote: The Momentum Kind of Slipped Away

In his lead for the Associated Press, Tom Saladino says it best, writing, “Another late lead and another bullpen meltdown for the New York Mets.”
In yesterday’s loss, Mike Pelfrey handed off a two-run lead to his team’s bullpen, but Brian Stokes let up one run in the seventh, after which Scott Schoeneweis, Joe Smith, Pedro [...]
