The Phillies have put Raul Ibanez on the 15–day disabled list, according to a team press release.
25–year-old Rookie OF-1B John Mayberry Jr. will replace Ibanez on the roster.
Mayberry hit .222 with one HR and a double during nine at bats in a previous stint with the Phillies this season.
…despite the result, the last few days was exciting… there was a consistent, strong energy in the stands of Citi Field, which had not been there at any other point this season… i like this rivalry with the Phillies and Mets, so much more than what we had with the Braves in the 1990s, because [...]

The Phillies announced yesterday that Brett Myers will miss the rest of the season recovering from hip surgery.
As such, Ken Rosenthal of FoxSports.com believes the Phillies will look to acquire a ‘top-of-the-rotation type,’ such as M’s LHP Erik Bedard or Astros RHP Roy Oswalt, since they do not have the money to pursue multiple mid-level [...]
In an article for the New York Times, David Waldstein relays Phillies Manager Charlie Manuel’s thoughts on the Mets and being in first place.
Before yesterday’s game, Charlie said, “I think if we can put a few whippings on them, it would be good, I think that will bring out the best in everything.”
On being in [...]
In a post to his blog for the News Journal, Scott Lauber relays a conversation he had with Phillies reliever Ryan Madsen regarding the Mets and Phillies.

“I think we’re right on track,” Utley [...]
